BRICK UPON BRICK, LINE UPON LINE…

As I grow older, I realise it’s ridiculous, foolish even, to criticize certain denominations or doctrines because we don’t need them yet, or we have outgrown them, or we feel – at the level we currently are – they are extreme.

Let me explain.

I grew up attending a well-known church whose major doctrine was holiness: righteousness, sanctification, abstinence from sin, living a holy life – down to our physical appearance…

Is Your Spiritual Reality Performance-Based?

Many years ago, God taught me to stand in His truth about me – no matter what I saw or felt. Prior to that teaching, I would speak and believe the lies of the enemy based on my feelings, circumstances or performance:

If I had failed God in any area or didn’t perform up to par, it was over. No matter what the enemy threw at me, he was justified.

Then, I began to learn…and to experience the favour of God in unusual dimensions…

What Is Draining Your Spiritual Power?

I recently listened to a message by Minister Lawrence Oyor.

He told how the late Apostle Ayo Babalola once shared about a certain minister who was mightily used by God and extremely spiritually powerful. He was so powerful that, anytime villages or communities heard he was coming around/to the area, they would bring out people who had been dead for days and even weeks – and he would raise them up from the dead in their various stages of decay…

PHYSICAL HUNGER vs SPIRITUAL FOOD.

Some years ago, I woke up one day hungry. Literally starving. I was so ravenous, I felt I could eat paint off the wall. That’s how hungry I was.

The only problem was that I was supposed to be fasting.

I was so hungry I didn’t think I could concentrate. However, I forced myself to open my Bible, then began to read hungrily…

SLEEP AND SPIRITUAL WARFARE

A few weeks ago, I started to feel physically exhausted and sleepy. I knew I had been very busy, so I initially shrugged it off. I would lie down, then sleep off immediately. I am a very light sleeper, but these times, I would sleep deeply. I thought it was mental exhaustion from work and certain situations.

However, I started getting concerned when I started to feel sleepy during church service. That was really weird…

Is The Bible Truly Enough?

About three or four years ago, I assisted in working on a religious thesis. The project took me on a research of many religions of the world, and it was eye-opening to study their origins. Some of these psuedo-religions were blatantly anti-Christ and anti-God, but others were more subtle.

The most fascinating for me were those that seemingly had their origins in Christianity or ‘Christian’ experiences, but later deviated into error…

This topic has been bouncing around in my head – and I knew I had to write about it.

Years ago, I was between churches. I worked six days a week, so I needed one that, preferably, was close to the office. There were a few around, but one in particular had caught my attention…

Ask any Christian – and they’ll reel off the drill needed for spiritual victory: Pray. Read the Word. Meditate. Fast. Pray in the Spirit…and so on.

However, you can do all this – and still be a spiritual weakling.

Kenneth Copeland shared how his wife, Gloria, had been asking God to teach her how to fully and more powerfully operate in the spirit.
