Is Your Spiritual Reality Performance-Based?

Many years ago, God taught me to stand in His truth about me – no matter what I saw or felt. Prior to that teaching, I would speak and believe the lies of the enemy based on my feelings, circumstances or performance:

If I had failed God in any area or didn’t perform up to par, it was over. No matter what the enemy threw at me, he was justified.

Then, I began to learn…and to experience the favour of God in unusual dimensions…

PHYSICAL HUNGER vs SPIRITUAL FOOD.

Some years ago, I woke up one day hungry. Literally starving. I was so ravenous, I felt I could eat paint off the wall. That’s how hungry I was.

The only problem was that I was supposed to be fasting.

I was so hungry I didn’t think I could concentrate. However, I forced myself to open my Bible, then began to read hungrily…

The Parable Of The Well (Archives).

There was a certain city, and in that city, there was severe drought.

The people thirsted desperately for fresh water and, in their bid to keep from dying of thirst, began to invent other liquids.

Like most man-made inventions, however, these addictive fluids didn’t fully satisfy. They only caused a temporary high which wore off after sometime.

WHERE DO YOU PLACE YOUR ‘BUT’?

The first time I heard this statement from a minister, I chuckled, like most people in the congregation. It was more than the statement itself; it was the way he said it – and the wicked grin on his face when he did:

“Where do you place your ‘BUT’?! Put your ‘BUT’ in the correct place!”

It was hilarious.

However, beyond the humour, that single placement will radically influence your walk with God.
