THE CROSSROAD (Archives)

At certain times in our lives, we get to crossroads where we have to make life-changing decisions.

Usually, at these points, we hesitate: Left or Right?
Yes or No?
Leave or Stay?
Keep or Cut off?

Some people have developed the impressive skill of taking really major decisions quickly.

Others take some time…

…while others take their tiiiiiiiiiime!

Whatever the case may be, there is a crossroad every believer will come to in their walk with the Father:

The Crossroad Of Faith.

To live by faith – or by sight.
To go with the Word – or go with the world. (I don’t mean sin. I’m talking mindsets, patterns, or systems.)

Every Christian WILL get to that point.

A first group will vacillate: ‘I know the Word says this, but…’

These ones go forward, then backward; one leg in, the other out; by faith today, human reasoning tomorrow…
…running between junctions – depending on which seems to move faster, which seems to bring quicker results, or which is more popular.

However, they are still the beloved children of the Father.

Another group will get to that junction – and honestly, but firmly, turn their backs on living by faith.

They have had too many unanswered questions, experienced too much hurt, and prayed too many seemingly unanswered prayers.
They choose to work with human logic, mental reasoning – and their five senses.
On their own, thank you.

These ones, too, are dearly beloved of the Father.

Then, there are those who will get to that junction – and pause.

Only Heaven will have a record of how long they stand there, contemplating, weighing the pros and cons, afraid to take that path…

…until, finally, they decide.

To Walk By Faith.

Totally. Fully. Completely.

Come hell or high water, hailstones or coals of fire.

It’s either the Word works…or the Word works.
It’s either the Word is true…or the Word is true.

To those, the Father says,
“Beloved, you have chosen well.

Like a child learning to walk, you will fall…
…but get up, and keep walking.

You will fail. Keep walking.
You will misunderstand. Keep walking.
You will be misunderstood. Keep walking.
You will be laughed at. Keep walking.

The results may seem to take longer. Keep walking.
There are days you will feel it is a complete waste of time. Keep walking.
You will be tempted many times to turn around and take the other road. Keep walking…

…because One Day,

You will look back and see how far you have come:

Your shield is larger. Your muscles are bigger.
Your eyes are clearer. Your focus is sharper.

Mountains have been leveled. Territories have been conquered.
Giants have been slain and Captives have been set free.

But most wonderful of all,

… You will not be able to imagine living life any other way.”

To these Heroes of Faith, I join the Father to say,

“Keep Walking.”

For We Walk By Faith – and not by sight. (2Corinthians 5:7)

The christian’s journey is a ‘walk’. Like I said in one of my blogpost, if you fall while walking you better get up. Thank you for the encouragement

    Great encouragement!

Although I do wonder if walking by faith includes waiting to hear/receive guidance.

    Thank you for sharing Debby.

It does. Faith comes by ‘hearing.’ Thanks for reading!

Thank you for this excellent encouragement! I want to walk by faith no matter what comes, but unfortunately sometimes I see myself in your other examples., especially the one who vacillates.

Don’t we all at one point or another?! 😀 Thank God for growth!
