I recently listened to a message by Minister Lawrence Oyor. He told how the late Apostle Ayo Babalola once shared about a certain minister who was mightily used by God and extremely spiritually powerful. He was so powerful that, anytime villages or communities heard he was coming around/to the area, they would bring out people who had been dead for days and even weeks – and he would raise them up from the dead in their various stages of decay.
The Apostle himself said, “My anointing, compared to his, was like the size of a bottle. His was the size of a drum (barrel).”
Coming from someone who was noted – and is remembered – for outstanding signs, wonders and miracles, this was shocking. So, how come this man’s name isn’t known? If the Apostle is so well-known, even decades after his death, how is this man unknown?
Apostle Babalola answered it himself: “The difference between us is that my bottle was tightly corked, while his drum was leaking.”
You see, after powerful ministrations and mighty miracles, this anointed servant of God would go and sleep with prostitutes.
Shocking and sad, isn’t it? And it’s something to ponder on:
What is draining your own spiritual power? What is causing your own spiritual container to leak?
A sister once shared how, at one time in her life, she got into a wrong, ungodly relationship. She was so emotionally involved, she couldn’t break away. She knew she had the calling of God on her life, and there would be seasons she would spend intense times alone with God, soaking in His presence and power – then she would meet this individual, and everything would just disappear.
One time, she was ordained to serve in a particular office in her local assembly. After the ordination and impartation, she and certain ministers spent hours praying for their newly appointed offices. The glory of God so filled the place and re-anointed them, they could barely stand.
That same day, her partner came calling. In her own words, “I literally felt all the anointing leak out of me, like air from a balloon.”
Thankfully, she later broke free – but she had lost a lot.
What’s draining your spiritual power? What’s that thing/situation/person that makes you feel spiritually depleted when you meet or indulge in them?
For some, it’s outright sexual immorality, fornication and adultery – like the examples mentioned above. For others, it’s sexual uncleanness, like pornography, masturbation, sexual fantasizing.

For others, it might not be anything sexually related – but they reduce your power, and you know it:
-Excessive and inappropriate use of social media
-“Gisting” and gossip partners that empty you and add nothing to you
-Seasonal series that (as someone said) waste the seasons of your life
-Movies and music that strengthen your flesh and build up carnal desires.
-Holding on to negative emotions like bitterness, envy, unforgiveness, etc.
Yes, God will constantly forgive you when you go to him and say, “Lord, I’m sorry. Forgive me.” He will. Constantly. After all, if He asked us to forgive each other seventy times seven times, how wouldn’t He forgive us?
So, yes, He will keep forgiving – but you will NEVER attain to what you’re supposed to be, or come into the fullness of sonship, no matter the gifts, calling or anointing upon your life.
Also, the enemy doesn’t mind you going back to God and asking for forgiveness – as long as you remain weak and can’t cause lasting damage to his Kingdom. He doesn’t mind you getting filled – as long as you keep getting drained.
Again, what’s draining your spiritual power? Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal anything to you. If there is, ask for, receive the grace – and stop the leakage.
(Blessed? Kindly share.♥️)
If you want to give your life to Christ, just say with your lips, “Lord Jesus. I am sorry for all my sins. Come into my heart, forgive me and cleanse me with your Blood. I believe You died and rose again, and I accept You as my Lord and Savior. Amen.” You are welcome to the family!🤗 Drop a note, and we will be glad to reach out!
